The Judgment Day members Finn Balor and Damien Priest defended their titles against former champs Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The 3rd male member of the stable, Dominik Mysterio, defended his NXT North American Championship against Dragon Lee. Let’s start with our WWE Raw Results, Winners, Grades, and Analysis from September 25.

Opening

Featuring Cody Rhodes, The Judgment Day, JD McDonagh, Jey Uso, Sami Zayne and Kevin Owens

Cody Rhodes entered the arena with thunderous cheers. Cody delivered a solid promo before the Judgment Day Interruption. Dom and Cody exchanged some words, and Judgment Day decided to attack the American Nightmare. Jey Uso arrived to aid Cody Rhodes. As Judgment Day tried to attack, Sami and KO arrived, leaving Judgment Day at a disadvantage. JD McDonagh brought some steel chairs to help his mentor, Finn Balor, but Priest did not join his team in this attack. In the end, Priest got attacked by all four babyfaces.

Grade B+

Analysis

WWE set up a few things in this segment. Dom and Cody’s rivalry is still alive. JD McDonagh will be a serious threat to everyone on Monday Night Raw, including Judgment Day members. Damien Priest still has issues with their stable mates. This segment made the upcoming matches enjoyable.

Singles Match

Otis vs Bronson Reed

The two big men collided to showcase their strength. Both men had a hard-fought battle where they used tackles and clotheslines to floor each other. Reed hitting a Samoan drop on Otis was a thing of beauty. Both men traded a few moves to showcase their abilities. Reed finished Otis with a Tsunami.

Winner: Bronson Reed

Grade B

Analysis

So, the Big Bronson Reed beat both members of Alpha Academy of Raw now. So, where will this feud go? WWE neither gave a clear plan to Bronson Reed nor provided us with a clear conclusion to the Imperium vs Alpha Academy rivalry. The two monsters taking on each other is always fun to watch. So, this was a good match.

Singles Match

Tommaso Ciampa vs Ludwig Kaiser

Tommaso Ciampa met the Imperium backstage and told them he needed the Intercontinental title. Ludwig Kaiser challenged him to a fight tonight. Kaiser took the upper hand initially, but Ciampa soon took control. Both members are outstanding workers, so they hit every move with perfection. Both men shined in this match and hit their moves without any difficulty. Giovanni Vinci tried to interfere but ate a big knee from Ciampa. Ciampa hit another huge knee to Kaiser and pinned him 1-2-3.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa

Grade B

Analysis

WWE made criteria that whoever wants a title shot at Gunther must go through Kaiser and Vinci. Ciampa is a credible opponent for the Ring General. This match awarded him a necessary victory and gave him a reason to express his anger to his teammates. Next week’s Raw will be a treat to watch.

Singles Match

Natalya vs Tegan Nox

Becky Lynch and Tegan Nox exchanged words backstage before the last match, allowing Adam Pearce to book a number one contender match between Natalya and Nox. Both women told a story of a rookie getting a chance to beat a veteran. Natalya is always good against the younger opponents and makes them look good. Nox hit the shiniest wizard and pinned Nattie to earn the title shot.

Winner: Tegan Nox

Grade C

Analysis

WWE will use Becky Lynch’s title to bring limelight to only NXT but also a few unpopular stars over Raw. Tegan Nox never gets anything noteworthy on the WWE main roster so far. So, WWE management’s decision is good to use her against Becky Lynch.

NXT North American Championship Title Match

Dominik Mysterio vs Dragon Lee

Seth Rollins provided Shinsuke Nakamura with another opportunity to accept his challenge. Nakamura accepted the challenge through a video message but on one condition: the match will be a last-man-standing match.

Dominik Mysterio defended his NXT North American Championship against Dragon Lee. Dom was at a disadvantage in this match because Mami was not present at ringside. Dirty Dom and Dragon Lee had great chemistry, and both performed well. The crowd started the chant ‘This is Awesome’ before the finish. Finally, Mysterio picked up the victory and retained his title.

Winner: Dirty Dom

Grade A

Analysis

WWE did an excellent job giving these two young competitors enough time to showcase their ring work. Both did a solid job of entertaining the crowd. It is good to see Dirty Dom winning the match on its own. Both these stars have a bright future in WWE. The bad thing is that WWE did not book any match for Fastlane so far.

Singles Match

Nia Jax vs Zoey Stark

Nia Jax showed up for an interview with Michael Cole, but Zoey Stark started a fight. WWE booked a match between them. Stark began the proceeding with two dropkicks. Before she hit the 3rd, Jax began to take control. Stark unsuccessfully attempted to lift Jax on the shoulder and ate a dropkick on the back of her neck. Nia Jax did not take much time to pin Stark.

Winner: Nia Jax

Grade C

Analysis

Zoey Stark held her own every time she stepped foot in the ring. She did a nice job in this match. Nia Jax was always a difficult wrestler to work with. It was a great victory to restart her in-ring career. WWE universe treated her with a chorus of boos which is a good sign for her to become a breakout star.

The Miz Tv and Impromptu Singles Match

Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston

Drew McIntyre explained his action last week for not saving Jey Uso from an attack. Before he could say much noteworthy, New Day interrupts and criticizes his actions. McIntyre challenged him to a match. Kingston used his speed to get an upper hand in the start. But, the Scottish Warriors hit a loud chop to move things towards his side. McIntyre became more aggressive in the last few weeks. Ivar of the Viking Raiders attacked Woods on the ringside and distracted Kofi Kingston. Drew McIntyre took the advantage and hit the Claymore kick to beat Kingston.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Grade B

Analysis

A changed personality and more aggressive movements have always suited McIntyre. WWE must turn him heel soon so that he can reach to the main event level once again. The story between the New Day and the Viking Raiders has not finished yet. Ivar attacked Kofi in the ring, and McIntyre did not save him again to show his dark side.

Undisputed Tag Team Championship Title Match

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs The Judgment Day, featuring Jey Uso, JD McDonagh and Cody Rhodes

As soon as the bell rang, all four men pounced on each other. All four men are experienced in-ring workers, so a good match was always possible. The match was red hot from the start and maintained its pace until the finish. Dom tried to interfere, bringing Jey Uso to even the odds. JD McDonagh entered the arena to settle the score, but Cody Rhodes made the save. Sami Zayn hit the Halluva kick to Damien Priest. Before he could pin him, McDonagh hit him with the belt. Priest won the match by pinning Zayn.

Winner: The Judgment Day

Grade A

Analysis

It was a superb match. No one can expect a bad match from these four competitors. All four members hit every move in their arsenal to entertain the crowd. The finish was not clean, which was a little disappointing. Overall, it was a quality match, allowing the Judgment Day to move towards other tag teams.
