WWE RAW April 15 Results, Grades, and Analysis

On April 15, WWE RAW aired live from Center Bell in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The show featured an IC Title match between Sami Zayn and Chad Gable. Sheamus returned to WWE TV. Cody Rhodes made an appearance, and Jey Usofaced Finn Balor. Let’s review everything that happened on the show.

Rhea Ripley makes a Huge Announcement

Rhea Rippey came out with a sling in her arm. Sadly, she announced that she had to relinquish the Women’s World title due to a shoulder injury.

Ripley said that it is painful because the title means everything to her. She said this all happened due to stupid Liv Morgan’s revenge tour.

Rhea warned Liv to stay out of her path. She also put on notice the superstar who will win her title while she’s gone. 

Liv Morgan came out with security holding her back. Liv laughed at Ripley. Both wanted to fight, but the officials prevented it.

Grades: A

Analysis: It is heartbreaking to see Rhea relinquishing the Women’s World Title. She was a dominant champion, and the new star, to capture the title, had to carry on the prestige. 

Singles Match

Sheamus vs. Ivar

Sheamus returned with his old theme song. It was his first match since August 2023. The crowd was rooting for Sheamus.

They exchanged forearms before Sheamus took out Ivar with a shoulder tackle. The Celtic Warrior delivered a Super White Noise off the middle rope. Sheamus hit a tilt-a-whirl powerslamand the 10 Beats of the Bodhran. 

Ivar fought back with a spin kick and a splash for a near fall. Ivar landed a knee to the face from the middle rope. Sheamus replied with the Kneecap. Sheamus delivered the Brogue Kick for the victory.

Winner: Sheamus

Grades: B+

Analysis: It is great to see Sheamus back. He hasn’t lost a step. Ivar was as amazing as he’s been these past few months.

New Tag Team Titles

Paul “Triple H” Levesque also entered the arena with Adam Pearce in the ring. He talked about WrestleMania. Pearce said that it’s a new era for the Tag Team division.

Awesome Truth: The Raw Tag Team Champions came out to a loud pop from the crowd. Triple H congratulated them and said he was happy for Truth’s WrestleMania moment. 

HHH presented them brand new titles and they will be called World Tag Team Champions. R-Truth hilariously thought of the title unveiling as a magic trick.

Also, Truth thought of Triple H as Tomasso Ciampa. Pearce said they will determine their first challengers in the upcoming match. 

Grades: B

Analysis: The World Tag Team Titles have been unveiled. It was good to see Triple H on TV. R-Truth was awesome, as always, with his comedy stint.

Tag Team Triple Threat Match

DIY vs. New Day vs. The Creed Brothers

The winners will be the #1 contender for World Tag Team Titles. Brutus laid out Woods and Gargano with a double clothesline.

DIY went for the stereo planchas at ringside on Creed Brothers. The Creeds caught them, but New Day laid out everyone with stereo somersault planchas.

Back after the break, Ciampa took out Kofi with some kicks. Julius took out Ciampa with a running knee. Brutus hit a hammer throw on Ciampa.

Woods landed a missile dropkick on Brutus. Gargano delivered a slingshot spear to Woods. Julius hit an exploder on Kingston.

Gargano took out Creeds at ringside with a cannonball. Ciampa hit The Project Ciampa on Kofi for a near fall in the ring. Woods landed a tornado DDT on Ciampa.

The New Day then delivered a wheelbarrow/famous combo on Tomasso. The Creed Brothers then hit multiple Northern Lights suplexes for a two-count. Ultimately, DIY was victorious with Meet in the Middle on Woods.

Winners: DIY

Grades: B+

Analysis: It was a great Triple Tag match. The Creed Brothers have a great moveset. DIY will challenge Awesome Truth for the World Tag Team Titles.

Tag Team Match

Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell vs. Ivy Nile and Maxxine Dupri

After a side headlock, Nile delivered a sunset flip to Hartwell for a two-count. Maxxine got the tag, and she landed a cross-body block on Indi. 

Dupri hit a fisherman’s suplex for a near fall. Later in the match, LeRae dominated Dupri, but she replied with a DDT.

In the end, LeRae and Hartwell won with a cheap shot as the referee was distracted. 

Winners: Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell

Grades: C-

Analysis: Candice and Hartwell are working as a heel team, and it looks like WWE has plans for them.

Singles Match

Andrade vs. Dominik Mysterio

Mysterio talked trash a bit and chopped the chest of Andrade. From a headlock, Andrade fought back with a shoulder block. Andrade landed a cross-body block for a two-count.

Andrade went for the Three Amigos, but Dominik blocked the third one. Dom then went for the Three Amigos.

Andrade blocked him at the third one and completed his third suplex. Andrade hit Dom with a couple of dragon screws and a flying forearm.

Andrade connected with double knees in the corner for a near fall. Mysterio planted Andrade on the apron with a Canadian Destroyer.

Andrade countered the 619 with a back elbow. Andrade laid out McDonagh on the apron and delivered The Message on Dom for the win.

After the match, Mysterio and McDonagh attacked Andrade, but Ricochet made the save.

Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Grades: B

Analysis: It was a good match. Andrade and Ricochet have made some sort of alliance against The Judgment Day.

Tag Team Match

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance vs. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven

Niven laid out Carter and Chance with a double clothesline and applied the Cobra Clutch before Green tagged in.

Green slapped Carter, but she slammed Chelsea down. Niven hit a fallawayslam on Chance.

In the end, Piper delivered a running cross-body block on Carter. Chelsea pinned Carter for the win.

Winners: Chelsea Green and Piper Niven

Grades: C

Backstage: Liv Morgan said that she didn’t understand the crowd’s reaction to her. Ripley took months of her career with a shoulder injury. She said it’s an eye for an eye, and the Revenge Tour will conclude with her winning the Women’s World Title.

Cody Rhodes Speaks

Cody Rhodes arrived in the ring with a huge crowd ovation. He thanked Seth Rollins for being his shield at WrestleMania XL.

Rhodes talked about The Rock’s video from social media. Rocky said that he would make Rhodes bleed again.

Cody said that The Rock would bleed with him this time. Then he talked about The Bloodline and the arrival of Tama Tonga.

Cody introduced Jey Uso to the ring. Rhodes thanked Jey for helping him at WrestleMania.

Cody said he would have Jey’s back as the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. 

Uso appreciated Cody, but he said he would do it alone. Rhodes wished him luck. Before going out, Cody said, “Until we YEET again!”

Grades: B

Analysis: It was a decent segment. Cody Rhodes thanked everyone who helped him finish his story.

Singles Match

Jey Uso vs. Finn Balor

Jey was already in the ring. Balor attacked him from behind. Finn delivered a basement dropkick for a two-count.

World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest was shown watching backstage. Finn talked trash and hit multiple chips to the chest before dropping Uso out of the ring. 

Balor was still dominating after the commercial. Jey fought back with a step-up enzuigiri. 

Uso landed a Samoan Drop for a near fall. Finn countered Jeyand delivered a falling elbow drop followed by a Slingblade. 

Jey superkicked Finn, but The Prince avoided the splash. In the end, Jey escaped the Coup de Grace and delivered a Spear. Uso followed it up with a splash for the victory. 

Damian Priest came face-to-face with Uso after the match. Dominik and McDonagh attacked Jey from behind.

Priest didn’t look happy with that. Uso laid out Dom, JD, and Balor at ringside and escaped through the crowd. 

Winner: Jey Uso

Grades: B

Analysis: It was a solid match between Jey and Finn. Uso looked good throughout the match. He will face Priest at Backlash PLE.

Intercontinental Title Match

Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable

Sami Zayn entered his hometown arena through the front doors as he did 25 years ago. There were loud “Ole” chants.

They started with holds and arm drags. Sami sent Gable to the outside and teased a plancha. Chad landed a clothesline in the ring, followed by a flying clothesline to the outside.

Sami’s wife was at ringside. In the ring, Gable delivered a diving head-butt for a near fall. 

Chad targeted the knee with a knee DDT and a toe hold. Zayn fought back with a clothesline and hit a flying elbow from the second rope. 

Zayn escaped the Ankle Lock and landed a slingshot moonsault block at ringside. Gable hit an Olympic Slam from the top rope.

They traded German Suplexes again and again. In the end, Zayn landed a nasty-looking German Suplex. 

Chad landed a flipping head kick. Sami replied with an exploder in the corner. Gable applied the Ankle Lock, but Sami escaped. 

Zayn caught Gable in midair and landed a Powerbomb. Sami went for Sharpshooter, but his knee gave out.

Gable countered a Helluva Kick attempt by Sami into a German Suplex into the turnbuckles. Gable applied the Ankle Lock again, but Sami rolled him out for a two-count.

Ultimately, Zayn hit an exploder, followed by Helluva Kick for the three-count.

Sami raised Gable’s arm after the match. Gable did the same for Sami. As Zayn celebrated with his family at ringside, Gable turned on him and delivered a German Suplex to the floor.

He continued the attack on the ring post and the commentary table. Gable applied the Ankle Lock on the second rope. Referees came out to break Chad’s hold. 

Winner: Sami Zayn

Grades: A

Analysis: The story unfolded nicely in an awesome main-event match. Gable is frustrated by continuous losing and takes his frustration out on Sami Zayn after the match. It will be an outstanding feud for both of these underdogs.

Overall, it is a memorable Monday Night Raw show from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Rhea Ripley has relinquished the title. Sheamus is back, and we have the new World Tag Team Titles. The main event rocked.
